Thanks Jessica
My suitemate Jessica (Jess), who I often speak of, is quite the graphic artist. She makes banners upon request as a hobby in her free time. I watched her make one earlier today and asked her if she would make one for our blog. She agreed thus the recent changes to the header. I just wanted to tell her thanks and introduce her so that in the future she can be Jessica and not only identified as my suitemate.

Where Credit is Due
Before this blog gets too far along, I think it's important to thank a few people. Without their influence this blog would probably not exist. First to a certain English teacher and debate coach who introduced me to blogging during class and ignited my initial interest in the blogosphere. Secondly, I owe thanks to a friend who through his own blog kept me intrigued about the idea of a space of my own. And lastly to a co-worker's blog which I find to be quite entertaining. It led me to think perhaps I too can hold people's interest with random thoughts and posts.

What's in a name?
As Ariel already alluded to, it took us a while to come up with a title for this blog which satisfied us both. Though best friends who in many ways are similar, we are also extremely different. Finding a title which encompassed both of not only our characteristics but also our desires of what the blog should be was not easy. In the end we decided to go with a name based upon how our similarity makes us different from our stereotypical generation. Though college students, neither of us is extremely fond of partying. We lead rather quiet lives compared to many of our peers but this satisfies us.
There is a distinction to be made between leading a quite life and leading a boring one. Our lives may not be the most exciting, but I would hesitate before calling them boring. With two of us, we can only hope you find them entertaining enough to read on as we share with you the strange, humorous, and the odd events occurring in the lives of two best friends. This is also our way of staying connected with each other. For seven years we shared everything. Now for the first time, we are without the constant presence and support of one another. There is no telling what kind of anomalous happenings will come our way.

The Beginning
Christina and I have been discussing starting a blog for quite some time. We both decided that individually we would not be interesting enough to have a blog, nor would we be driven enough. After giving up on the blog idea, one of us (I'm not sure which) thought about doing a blog where we both made posts. I started digging around on Blogger and found information about Team Blogs. You'd think that would be the end of the story, but it's not. The next challenge was coming up with a name for our blog. Summing up one person's intentions in one or two words is hard enough let alone summing it up for two people. For weeks we thought and thought. Finally Christina, in a fit of geniusness, used a thesaurus and thus anomalous was found. We will further describe the perfectness of this in another post. Now we needed a noun. After another dig through the thesaurus and finding nothing suitable we decided on "happenings." From there it all fell into place.
Please enjoy.
Please enjoy.
